Title: UABOS Spain: Station Captain

EXPERIENCE (PWS): Shall have six years firefighting experience in an organized fire protection function that provides fire suppression services. Three of the 6 years shall include aircraft crash, fire, and rescue services. Two of the 6 years shall include Company Officer/Crew Chief experience. Shall have knowledge of fire suppression, rescue and emergency incident techniques, operation of fire equipment, and water distribution and supply requirements. Shall have knowledge of the characteristics of aircraft fuel propellants, oxidizers, and weapons. Shall have ability to conduct all radio transmissions in English. Shall meet position certifications IAW DOD Manual 6055.06, dated 22 January 2020.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: The Station Captain shall forecast and develop daily duty and vehicle assignment rosters for their shift and for any shift on which they are working SWAPs or overtime (if needed), make inputs into the FES-IMS system (training reports, personnel forecast, etc.), establish “Command” at an incident if the Asst. Chief is not present, is in charge of their shift’s PPE program, makes inputs into the ARIS system as required, shall coordinate the daily cleaning and training schedule for their shift, process and prepare HR and pay documentation for ANs and SNs, prepare DD Form 1149 for equipment calibration, shall be assigned as a fire vehicle Crew Chief (dual hatted IAW the PWS), and perform any other tasks as assigned by their Assistant Fire Chief.

Preferred:
Must be fluent in English & Spanish
Education. Shall possess a High School diploma or equivalent
Qualifications:
MANDATORY DoD FIRE FIGHTER CERTIFICATIONS:
Fire Officer II, Fire Instructor I, Fire Inspector I and Haz Mat Incident Commander
If SN, must speak and write fluent English.
Must maintain a valid driver’s license and be certified on all assigned department vehicles.
OTHER MANDATORY CERTIFICATIONS (TO BE COMPLETED WITHIN 2 YEARS OF HIRE):
FEMA NIMS 300 & 400, Incident Safety Officer, and National Registry EMT
