Senior Financial Controller

A Senior Finance Controller is a key person in the way we need to conduct business, is responsible for the budget planning, and supports the leadership team by offering relevant insights and financial advice to help them to make the best business decisions.

She/he/them will keep track of everything related to finance in our business and operations, including: P&L, Reporting, Purchases Order, Invoicing, Revenues, expenses control, etc.

The role is key in our young but growing and successful office in Madrid and has a cross departmental relation, but mostly with the Client Services, Operations and People and Culture, plus close and almost daily relation with our offices in Milan and London reporting directly into the Managing Director.

Main Responsibilities

Monthly closing
Ad hoc reporting for the group
Cash Flow management
P&L management
Dividend distribution (annual)
Expense management
Provision management
Deviation analysis
Intercompany reconciliations
Budget and financial planning (forecast & reforecast)
Annual budget management and quarterly review
Revenues and direct client costs
General operating costs
Staff costs
Invoice tracking (income and expenses)

Invoice and bill processing

Purchase orders follow-up

P&L reporting to MD and Global report

Assist with audit planning (and group requirements)

Contract follow-up

Requirements
5-6 years experience in the same role preferably in advertising or media agencies. Background or understanding of the advertising, digital or media business is a plus.
BA in Administration, Economics, Engineer or other Financial related studies.
Excellent Excel user.
Excellent English speaker (Italian is a plus) as she/he/them will work hand in hand with the We Are Social Milan team.
Knowledge of Spanish accountant and tax rules.
An analytical mind, to advise on future business decisions.
Good people relations. You must have the ability to develop strong working relationships in various languages.
You thrive in fast-paced, flexible and open working environments, with the ability to stick to time constraints.
Detail and result- oriented person with a strong willingness to dig deep into data.
