Offer Description
UDC Reference: 2023/CP/110
Grant/funding reference: PID2020-118368RB-I00
Job title: Sistemas de Alerta Temprana frente a inundaciones pluviales en entornos urbanos
Research line / Scientific-technical services: Pluvial flood risk in urban areas
Tasks to be performed:
One of the objectives of the project "Early Warning Systems against pluvial flooding in urban environments" is the implementation of real-time prediction models in Early Warning Systems for pluvial flooding in urban environments. Within work package 3 of the project, it is necessary to carry out activities to characterize the perception of flood risk among the population, as well as to raise awareness of the risk of urban pluvial flooding, for which physically based models (numerical and laboratory) will be developed to represent the flooding processes in an intuitive and didactic way. The person hired will participate in these tasks, for which it will be necessary to have knowledge of numerical modelling of floods with two-dimensional physical models, as well as experience in the assembly of laboratory tests of hydraulics.
The person hired will participate in:
Construction of hydraulic and hydrologic numerical models with Iber.
Development of a hybrid numerical-physical platform for flood projection.
Organization of activities and creation of material to raise awareness of the risk of urban pluvial floods.
Requirements
Research Field Engineering » Civil engineering Education Level Bachelor Degree or equivalent
Skills/Qualifications
Bachelors Degree, Engineering, Architecture, Degree, Diploma, Technical Engineering or Technical Architecture.
