Minimum qualifications:

  • JD, equivalent degree, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in regulatory and corporate investigations.
  • Admitted to the bar and in good standing or otherwise authorized to practice law (e.g., have registered in-house status) in the state in which the position is located.
Preferred qualifications:
  • 10 years of experience with litigation, regulatory and/or corporate investigations, including strategically addressing, minimizing, and avoiding regulatory risk.
  • Experience engaging with regulators, including States AG, FTC, DOJ, and global data protection or consumer protection authorities.
  • Experience with high-risk incident response.
  • Experience working with internet and technology companies.
  • Experience working with public company boards and their counsel, including special/audit committees.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to take initiative and meet standards of integrity.

Alphabet’s Regulatory Response, Investigations, and Strategy team (ARRIS) addresses issues that involve regulatory scrutiny, and includes matters that relate to people, products, users, legislators and society, and our ecosystem. In this role, you will join a US-based team addressing emerging and high risks pertaining to how we interact with our partners, the market, and financial matters.

Responsibilities
  • Assess and respond to complex regulatory inquiries and investigations involving products and businesses globally.
  • Support other legal, product, and engineering teams involved in conducting investigations by developing best practices for conducting investigations, training, tracking/monitoring regulatory inquiries and investigations, and responding to matters involving heightened risk.
  • Work with product, engineering, and compliance teams to advise them of regulatory risk.
