At the Vandemoortele site of Santa Perpetua, were looking for a Production Manager to join our team.
Santa Perpetua is one of the four sites of the Vandemoortele MCOF (margarines, culinary oils, and fats) business line. Our business is B2B and were referent in the industrial channel in Iberia.
In the site were 66 associates, 36 of which are in the production team including operators, coordinators and a Continuous Improvement Coordinator and a Processing Engineer.
As a Production Manager your main responsibility will be to ensure that the production plan and all functional operations are fully achieved on time and in full compliance with our customers requirements. Youll also be responsible to manage and coach the production team towards our site goals, and to enable their development through the multiple leadership and skills trainings.
Our Santa Perpetua site is highly automatized and state of the art technologically. We are looking for someone digitally savvy to maintain and grow this trend. The key point of our new Production Manager is the ability to transform digitalization in value (together with Production team).
As Production Manager youll play a key role in promoting and engaging the team in our continuous improvement plan, we call it “Kairos”. We started it 3 years ago and were very proud of our achievements.

YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the production team.
Lead, motivate and manage production department staff to ensure there is a spirit of teamwork, a relaxed, friendly environment and ongoing improvement.
Ensure the values and internal rules are followed.
Ensure your staff members are adequate in terms of number and competency by offering training programmes.
Ensure that the site KPIs are well cascaded to all production associates.
Manage the production processes.
Supervise, control, and coordinate the activities of the different production workshops.
Ensure production teams are available and working properly so they can execute the production programmes dictated by the schedule.
Meet objectives related to production performance (quality, quantity, deadlines) and manufacturing standards.
Manage cleaning of production areas
Lead a continuous improvement/employee involvement culture through Lean Manufacturing approach. Drive for excellence on all daily operators and staff tasks.
Ensure quality, hygiene and safety instructions/procedures are implemented throughout the manufacturing process and in the entire production workshop. Ensure strict compliance with labour laws.
Improve and coordinate the priorities of technical maintenance on production lines with the Maintenance Manager, proposing investments, optimizing production line down times and product changes.
Report data, guaranteeing the reliability of the production data entered in the system and contributing to the analysis of differences in production performance versus KPIs and proposing corrective action plans.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
You have a background in:
University degree in Engineering or Science, preferably in a Chemical or Agricultural studies
Fluent in Spanish & English, both spoken and written. At least a C1 (Advanced).
Minimum of 5 years of experience as Production Manager, preferably in an international, bulk-batch process, chemical-food industry.
Previous experience implementing and using continuous improvement tools such as: lean manufacturing, 5s, etc. is strongly preferred.
Digital skills and expertise.
