Principal Innovation & Design Engineer, Worldwide Design & Engineering

DESCRIPTION

Were looking to add a handful of high-impact engineers to our team. In this role, you will collaborate with internal and external teams to design high quality, cost effective solutions for our fulfillment and distribution systems. You will own multiple projects simultaneously, from concept realization through design approval. You will be our suppliers primary point of technical contact for your projects. Then, once the design is completed and approved, you will hand-off the project to our Ops Engineering team who will oversee the installation and commissioning of the project. Youll support that team to ensure that the system youve designed is successfully installed, commissioned and launched.

Key job responsibilities
Your projects may include green-fields, brown-fields, and retrofits, including highly automated fulfillment centers, cross-dock facilities, and transportation centers throughout Europe. Your projects will be a variety of template-based and designed-from-scratch.

You will work with a team of highly skilled and highly engaged engineers in a fast-paced and often ambiguous environment. Our team works on hundreds of projects each year. You will be challenged; you will learn; you will work on high impact, high visibility projects; you will grow.

This job can be based in Luxembourg or Barcelona, Spain.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- 7+ years of technical product or program management experience
- 10+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
- 7+ years of technical program management experience
- 5+ years of software development experience
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
- Experience managing technical programs across cross-functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
- Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
- Experience working directly with engineering teams
- Experience in architectural design or system design independent of an architect

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- 8+ years of hands-on work managing complex technology projects experience
- Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
