About the role
We are looking for a finance analyst to join our team in Barcelona. The focus of this role is broad and will require you to get your hands in many areas of finance, ideally also supporting us with data analytics projects. Your responsibilities will include daily bookkeeping and reconciliation, processing supplier payments, answering customer and supplier queries, processing expenses and vendor invoices, customer invoicing and credit control, and supporting management accounts & reporting. The role requires to work with different business units of the organization on a variety of projects.
You are a great fit if you have some existing knowledge of accounting principles and bookkeeping, good organizational skills, and a willingness to work in a team as you will be dealing with different points of contact inside and outside of the organization. Data analysis and strong Excel skills are desirable.
Key responsibilities you will be in charge of
Processing expert and supplier payments
Bookkeeping and reconciliation in Xero
Bookkeeping and reconciliation in Spendesk (expenses, cards & vendor invoices)
Support in preparation of payment-runs
Finance Mailbox: Answering supplier & client queries / redirecting to the right point of contact
Answering internal finance queries
Support on Accounts Receivable (invoicing & credit control)
Suggest improvements in finance process accuracy & efficiency Managers across international teams.
Support on month-end tasks and management accounts preparation
Other ad hoc tasks & data analysis
About you
We are looking for someone who can learn new processes quickly, is data-savvy, is keen to be involved with lots of different finance tasks, and is excited about working in a fast-paced and growing Tech startup. We encourage all our finance team members to be proactive about finding ways to improve our internal processes and systems.
Requirements to succeed in this role
Degree or certification in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
1-2 years of experience working in a similar position
Excellent knowledge of MS Excel / Google Sheets
Knowledge of accounting software (Xero preferred but not essential)
Good organizational and time-management skills
Orientation to detail
Interest in data analysis
Some existing knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping procedures
Works well in a team and have a collaborative way of working
Familiar with multicurrency + multi-entity accounting
Native level of English; any other European language is a plus
