Energy Modeller Renewable Hybrid & Storage Projects (d m f)

What You Will Do
Developing and improving our in-house techno-economic optimization models for the assessment of Renewable Hybrid & Storage projects (esp. battery standalone, Solar/Wind plus storage, Solar plus Wind)
Evaluating energy and ancillary service markets and setting up revenue stacking and sizing optimization models for battery storage standalone and hybrid projects
Modeling and evaluating business cases and their sensitivity analysis, to facilitate investment decisions and optimizing the revenue strategy
Support the projects finance experts with insights enabling them to build up and modify financial models to fit BESS and Hybrid projects
Gathering market intelligence and monitor energy market trends that could have an impact on project valuation
Supporting Project Sales and PPA colleagues in negotiations with investors and route to market providers
Building the bridge between EMEA legal entities and the central Hybrid & Storage expert teams as well as with the BayWa r.e. Energy Trading entity
Empowering our colleagues through workshops and trainings regarding techno-economic modelling for Renewable Hybrid & Storage projects
What You Bring
Academic degree preferably in a technical, economical or mathematical discipline (other degrees are valued if experience matches the profile requirements)
Minimum 2-5 years working experience in a relevant field with a strong focus on energy modeling (e.g., energy trading, PPA, energy consultancy)
Strong analytic mindset and high numerical literacy including Excel VBA and programming skills (e.g. Python, GAMS or Matlab)
Understanding of EMEA energy market designs and regulations (experience in AMER and APAC markets are a plus)
Ideally broad understanding of BESS applications, business models and operational strategies including the valuation of them
Entrepreneurial and positive attitude with strong passion for the relevant business field
Experience in working with external advisors and international teams
Fluency in English (other languages esp. German, Spanish a/o French are a plus)
