Job Description
The Employee Relations Lead will be responsible for guiding the core HR team and will provide strategic HR and ER support to the business. Reporting to the HR Manager, the Employee Relations Lead will partner with managers in ER matters including, but not limited to, the resolution of employee relations issues, disciplinaries and grievances, absence management and performance management. The ER Lead will be responsible for the ER function across our operation in Spain.
Main Responsibilities:
Understand clear people priorities and objectives in partnership with the senior leadership team that will support the achievement of the organisation's objectives
Together with the team be the first line support to employees and managers for any ER related inquiries
Design and implement effective short- and long-term ER and HR policies and strategies to ensure alignment with business strategies and goals
Issue relevant documentation associated with disciplinaries, salary increases and promotions and any other employment related documentation
Guide and mentor the core HR team to effectively manage all employee relations casework and transactional HR activity, ensuring that the team's activity is carried out in a manner which supports the EVO people strategy
Partner with, and support People Managers on a broad spectrum of ER activities including grievances, disciplinaries, restructures, redundancies and TUPE transfers as well as provide specialist advice and guidance, serving as the escalation point for complex ER issues
Lead and/or oversee all employee relations casework working in partnership with people managers and trade unions (if applicable) to provide innovative solutions to complex HR situations
Lead and advise on employment law, complex ER cases, and tribunals cases and represent company in legal and governmental institutions upon necessity
Supports on the outcome of organisational design work resulting in restructures, redundancies or TUPE transfers. Manage this process from start to finish ensuring best practice is applied
Develops positive working relationships with employees, ensuring effective consultation and negotiation takes place between all parties as required
Proactively seek knowledge of both industry and functional specialty researching best practices, legal developments, emerging trends, technological advancements, and benchmark comparisons to create HR practices that are both compliant and best in class
Prepares newsletter and other reports/documents to communicate information about employee concerns, comments and organizational actions taken, and other HR documentatoin related with ER
Support with over all HR projects as required
Any other duties as required to include general HR administration duties
Qualifications
More than 5+ proven HR experience with a focus in ER, preferably with diverse client groups and agility to work with matrixed functional areas and stakeholders
University degree Law or Labor Relations.
Strong employment law knowledge is a must, backed with solid experience supporting redundancies, tribunals, collective consultations
Proven ability to support stakeholders with varying capability in the ER space as well as training and coaching in ER practices
Strong level of both written and spoken Spain and English is essential
Analytical thinking demonstrated by the ability to solve problems using a logical, systematic, and sequential approach to professionally handle employee concerns
Outstanding relationship builder with strong collaboration skills with proven ability to build and maintain partnerships and solid working relationships with management and employees.
Effective communication skills with customer focus and strong influencing skills
The ability to operate successfully in a high volume and fast-paced environment unaided, embrace change and balance competing and opposing priorities
Demonstrated knowledge and use of continuous improvement tools and processes
Proven strategic thinker and skilled at solving complex business problems
Confidence and strong personal presence - you shake up the status quo, while gaining the respect of both peers and senior management
A general familiarity and curiosity for a wide range of HR policies, practices, and trends
Experience using HRIS platforms is a must
