Are you a postdoctoral researcher thinking about the next step in your scientific career? IMIM is willing to support excellent researchers interested in applying for an EU Marie Sklodowska Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship in the field of translational clinical research.

Who are we?

The Hospital del Mar Medical Research Institute (IMIM) is a centre of excellence for biomedical and health research located in the city of Barcelona. The Institute is part of the Parc de Salut Mar consortium and is composed of IMIM researchers, clinical researchers from the affiliated Hospital del Mar, and also researchers from other Barcelona scientific institutions (Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona and BarcelonaBeta Brain Research Centre Foundation). IMIM has been recognised by CERCA as a Catalan Research Institute of Excellence and by ISCIII as a Health Research Institute and HRS4R with HR Excellence in Research. It is located next to the sea in the heart of Barcelona city and is adjacent to Hospital del Mar and the Campus Universitari Mar. Its location inside Barcelona Biomedical Research Park (PRBB) means IMIM is positioned in a biomedical hotbed of Barcelona.

The Translational Clinical Research Program is committed to the expansion of the knowledge on the physio-pathological, inflammatory and genetic mechanisms of cardiovascular, respiratory, bone and other acute and chronic disorders, their treatment and management. Addressing biomedical key scientific questions stemming from bedside is the highest priority of the members of the program, who are deeply multidisciplinary in nature in their joint venture.

Who can apply?

These fellowships are intended for outstanding researchers from anywhere in the world that have at least a doctoral degree at the call deadline and a maximum of 8 years full-time research experience since PhD defence.

We are looking for candidates with a PhD and research experience in one of the above-mentioned research fields.

The call requires geographic mobility: at the date of the call deadline, the candidates must not have been working in Spain for more than 12 in the last 36 months.

Position details
Full-time contract with a gross salary of approx. 3.800€/month. It includes medical care coverage and work accident insurance through the Spanish Health System, as well as pension and unemployment benefits.
Funded international research stays in academic or in industry sectors. The fellowship includes approx. 12.000€/year for research and training activities.
The fellowship is for a period of 2 years.
The feedback from the call is expected in early 2024 and, if successful, the estimated starting date will be May/June of 2024.
