Business Analyst in Tax

DESCRIPTION

Amazon is looking for a Business Analyst in Tax PCS (Product Classification Services) Operations team in Bratislava, Slovakia/Barcelona, Spain as part of the Global Tax Calculation Services Program. This team is comprised of tax professionals and software engineers that are responsible for providing end-to-end global transaction tax calculation solutions (sales and use taxes, value-added taxes, good and services taxes, and other consumption taxes) to Amazon and thousands of other merchants selling on Amazon marketplaces and other e-commerce platforms.

We are looking for a smart, passionate candidate with experience in business analytics, projects and process improvements with finance background to join and support our growing team. This individual will support the rapid growth of this team by supporting business metrics, identifying trends and opportunities and collaborating with internal stakeholders to drive the business.

The ideal candidate will be a highly analytical, detail oriented individual, who possess expertise in both qualitative and quantitative analysis with a passion for delivering actionable insights to key stakeholders. This person will communicate effectively across teams, locations and levels while combining advanced reporting with strong critical thinking and project management skills. Success in the role will have a large impact on improving the team performance and growing the business..

Key job responsibilities
Dive deep into the details to develop meaningful findings and provide required data
Analyze and solve problems at their root, stepping back to understand the broader context
Support metrics and reports for measuring team productivity and process improvements
Expand and refine data retrieval techniques
Participate in team operational excellence programs and process improvements
Perform business analysis and identify trends to support ongoing and future projects and enhancements
Learn and understand a broad range of Amazons data resources and know when, how, and which to use

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- • Corporate experience in finance sector
- • Proficient in obtaining, organizing and analyzing data to support fact-based decisions
- • Strong communication and analytical skills
- • Prior experience with SQL
- • Proven ability to create route cause analyses of issues
- • Proficiency in English (written and verbal)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

- • Advanced user of Excel, VBA
- • Working knowledge with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Quick Sight, Quick View or Power BI
- • Proven problem solving skills, project management skills, attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills, decisive, and self-motivated
- • Experience in developing requirements and formulating business metrics for reporting
- • Experience working in environments with aggressive deadlines and production environments
- • Can-do approach and results driven mindset
