Offer Description
A postdoctoral position for 2 years in the field of computational fluid mechanics applied to the study of the fluidstructure interaction problem is available at the University of the Balearic Islands. The postdoc will join an ongoing project related to the numerical study of smart coatings and the endothelial glycocalyx [LEGOCITS: (PID2020-118317GB-I00/AEI /10.13039/ 501100011033)], in the WP the postdoc will help us (in all subtasks ST 2.1 to 2.4), in subtask 3.1 of WP3, and in WP4. In WP1, it will help us to study glucocalism in the microscopic domain, characterizing elastohydrodynamic lift, active forcing in particle flow, the study of particle permeability and penetration. At WP2, the postdoc will help us in creating a new numerical code, studying with this new microparticle flow code, and permeability and permeation barriers, and the interaction of red blood cells with glucocalis. In WP3, the postdoc will help us in the design and creation of optimized coverings by means of the biomimetic approach. In WP4, the postdoc will help us in the transversal tasks associated with the project.
